You know, I’ve been reading about how Bush Sr. took over the Presidency after that assassination attempt. I can’t help wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t put that disc in Reagan’s lung that day.
I was 18. I didn’t know sh*t about politics. Besides, it really wasn’t me looking down at him that day. That guy was the one they used when they wanted something done. I can remember his feelings. Absolutely no fear. Absolute focus on my orders and completing the mission.
I can remember doing other things for Herbert. It was me and 3 other guys, all pretty young. Some memories I wish I didn’t get back.
